Start Planning now for the 2025/26 Ski Season, Passes and Trips!
PSOC 2023/24 Western Division Champions (again)!
Racing Update from Dan Hudson - March 2025:
And just like that, the 2024-25 race season is over. It was a good season, and we had 21 racers participate in the races – up 2 racers from last year. We managed to get 4 out of 5 race weekends done and we raced at Winterplace, West Virginia, for the first time in a long time. We had two new qualifiers this year, one at the first race and one at the last race; both of them are returning racers who had taken a little time off.
We had a great team this year and had several team members excel and reach the top three of the standings for the entire Crescent ski groups. At the end of the season, awards are given to the Male and Female racers with the most season points, most improved racer and rookie of the year.
PSOC had three racers represented in these awards:
Meredith Heyde was second place High Points Female.
Rich Mead was third place High Points Male.
Zack Bliss was second in the Most Improved Male Racer.
Congratulations to you all for an outstanding season.
We also had one racer, Stephen Foster, who is going to Milan, Italy to represent the USA (and the PSOC team) in the Special Olympics. Stephen did a great job this year, decreasing his handicap more than 20%, going from 74 to 59. We are all hoping he carries this great trend into the upcoming competition and wish him well.
Congratulations to the PSOC team members for their great season. I hope to see all of you back next season – get your friends to join us.

Interested in racing?
Anyone can come and race with the club. Racing is fun, and a great way to improve your skiing or snowboarding skills! It is a handicap system, so you will race against other skiers or snowboarders that match up well with your level. Beginner or Expert, you will have some fun competition. If you would like to see what it is all about, you can do so without any obligation or pressure to continue to race. We will introduce you to your fellow racers, give you some tips, and a discount lift ticket, then hopefully make you feel comfortable enough to try a handicap qualifying run, which will give you an idea of what racing flight you would compete in. Contact us if you would like to try it on one of our race weekends, and we will guide you through the process, and likely get you a nice discount on your lift ticket as well.
PSOC races with the The Crescent Ski Council (CSC), which is a group of 18 ski clubs in the Southeast. Skiers and snowboarders of all ages and experience are welcome to come race, or just support your fellow club members!
