Join us on this fantastic trip organized by the Crescent Ski Council to beautiful Alaska.  If you haven't visited Alaska, or done an Alaskan cruise, it really is a once in a lifetime bucket-list trip. 

Trip includes: 

• 6 nights for the land portion (we added a night on the front end in Fairbanks so no worries on when flights arrive and have to be ready first thing next  morning, now you have a day to relax)
• 7 day cruise on Holland America, you still have to check the insurance box during registration - but price   includes it
• Port fees and air into Fairbanks and out of Vancouver.  You can choose to add a night in Vancouver on the tail end, so not rushed for flights  after getting off the boat.

• If you are signing up and wanting a roommate, but do not have a name (i.e. you want Crescent to pair you up), you must register as a single and in the Medical Info box type in that you want to be paired with a roommate. 
• Also use the  Medical Info  box and list Palmetto as your member club. 
• We have 40 spots, after will be based on ability to obtain another coach for land, and cabins on the cruise
• First come, first serve on cabins, so the earlier you book, the better chance of getting what you want
• First come, first serve on the air - those registering earliest will have first air flight assignments

Collette offers 3 different excursions through them, so you don't have to do ones offered by the boat and they are only for Collette passengers. These  can be selected during registration.

Do some skiing and sightseeing in August in South America!  Organized by the Knoxville Ski Club.   (See our blog post about Valle Nevado which your webmaster visited this past summer).

• Valle Nevado, at more than 10,000 feet in altitude, is part of the Tres Valles (Three Valleys) of the Andes, which also include El Colorado and La Parva, and the resort is located 90 miles from Santiago. It has extensive terrain and long runs, with excellent off-piste terrain and world-class heli-skiing that is rated the best in South America. The resort has full-service infrastructure that includes a pub, spa, and shopping. Base elevation is 9843' and the summit is 12041' with a 2657' vertical drop.  There are 17 lifts and 44 runs, with 14% beginner, 25% intermediate, 41% advanced, and 20% expert. Average snowfall is 324". There is snow making on 200 acres.
  

Further Details:

• The trip departs on August 7, 2025, and arrives at the Santiago Airport on August 8. Then the group will enjoy a private half-day Santiago City bus ride and walking tour with English speaking guide(s) with a stop for a group lunch (including gratuity). Following lunch, the bus will proceed to Lapiz Lazul (lapis gift shop) and then a supermarket to purchase bottled water, Chilean wine, and snacks. Finally, the bus will continue to the Valle Nevado ski resort for a late afternoon group check-in.
  

Schedule Overview:

• From August 8-15, lodging will be at Hotel Puerta del Sol, a 4-star hotel. Half board is included. Enjoy breakfast at Mirador del Plomo restaurant and dinner at LaFourchette, Monte Bianco, Sur or Mirador del Plomo. You are responsible for making your dinner reservations and for tipping the wait staff.  Dinner on the first night is at the Mirador del Plomo restaurant. 
• On August 15, on the way back to Satiago on a private motor coach, there will be a two-hour stop at Pueblito los dominicos, a quaint Chilean traditional and artisan craft market. The next adventure is a cable car ride on the Teleferico to the top of San Cristobal for a panoramic view of Santiago before continuing on for a 2-night stay at Hotel Plaza San Francisco, a 5-star hotel. The hotel is adjacent to the oldest church in the city. The balance of the day is sightseeing and dinner on your own.  
• August 16 will be a day on your own for sightseeing and shopping in Santiago. 
• On August 17, after checking out, there will be a private full day English speaking guided bus/walking tour to port cities Valparaiso, Vina del Mar, and Casablanca Valley Winery with group lunch (gratuity included). Following the tour, you will arrive at the airport for an evening flight home to arrive on August 18.

It is never too early to start planning your ski trips for next season, so mark your calendar, and keep your eye out for more info on this page and club emails for registration info later this Spring.  Our club trips are normally open for sign up in early June, and spots fill up fast!

You may also want to consider getting your Ikon pass early for this trip and save significant money.  Not only is Mammoth an Ikon resort, but it is one of the few resorts that offer additional on-mountain discounts for Ikon pass holders.

This year we are staying at the Juniper Springs condos. These are ski-in/ski-out accommodations. These are resort-owned condos, and we are getting some great pricing for this trip. 

Mammoth Mountain is California’s crown jewel and known for their great spring skiing. At 11,053 feet it’s the highest lift-served summit in the state and legendary for its deep, high quality snow, incredible views and a season that stretches into June. Per previous trips, there will be group gatherings, après events, etc.  The Juniper property will also host  a welcome breakfast to include breakfast burritos, juice , and coffee.  Mammoth Mountain hosts will also be in attendance to answer questions  and advise about mountain tours.
